Missions and Outreach

We believe that God has called us to serve both locally and globally, to care for the needs of others and point them to Jesus.

Water For All

water for all

In partnership with Water For All International in October of 2023, we sent two of our own to the country of Malawi to drill a water well and teach the Malawians how to maintain this well.

Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, and many do not have access to clean water. And water is essential to life!

Operation Christmas Child

occ promo

Year round, we collect toys, clothes, and supplies to pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. "The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world."

Once a year in the fall, we have a "packing party," where kids, youth and adults pack shoeboxes for  underprivileged kids.

During our packing party in 2023, our church packed 530 boxes!

If you would like to make a donation to our annual collection for OCC, please call Linda Hogg.

Mission Week

Throughout this mission focused week in the summer, we serve the community through a couple of projects in the mornings and have a time of fellowship and community building in the evenings.

Keep an eye out the Mission Week dates for 2024!

As the Body of Christ, we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus and serve those around us. And we know many in the Riesel / Marlin / Mart area struggle in silence.

We see you!

Whether you're a widow, elderly, a single parent, or a family struggling to make ends meet, we desire to help with things around your house. Examples of things we can do is lawn work, or minor projects around your house or property. We have helped lay water lines and built ramps for the elderly

Please reach out to Pastor Clint to see if we are able to help with .

Community Ministerial Alliance

A few of the churches in Riesel, including FBC, have joined together to help meet the needs of those in the community, and have joint events to reach people of all ages in the name of Jesus.

Rather than allow denominations and differences in beliefs to divide us, we strive to be unified in Christ for the growth of the Kingdom of God, and for the Gospel to spread further than it could on our own.

One major focus of the CMA is to help people who are struggling to pay their bills. We want to help alleviate this burden.

If you are in the area and are struggling to make ends meet, please reach out to Pastor Clint to see if the CMA could help.

Another focus of the CMA is joint events throughout the year. These event include a Community Vacation Bible School in the summer, a community Thanksgiving dinner, an Easter Sunrise service at Barry Mullens Park, 5th Sunday Singing, and more.
