Pianist Search
First Baptist Church of Riesel is searching for a Pianist. We are a small, loving and rural church about 20 minutes from downtown Waco.
Reports To: Senior Pastor, Personnel Committee, and Music Minister
Status: Part-Time (No Regular Office Hours Required)
Principle function – To help facilitate an atmosphere in which God is worshipped and glorified by playing the piano for congregational singing and special music during worship services.
Qualifications:

Ability to read music and possess a familiarity with both traditional Baptist hymns and contemporary Christian worship music in general

Be a born again dedicated Christian who maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ

An attitude and communication style that reflects an understanding of servant leadership

Able to interpret and support our church’s values through our music/worship ministry

Must be able to work well with others and be able to thrive under the constructive criticism/evaluation of church leadership
Responsibilities/Duties:

Work closely with the pastor, Music minister, and other staff to coordinate worship that follows the theme of the service

Play for Sunday morning worship service each week

Prelude, songs selected by worship leader, instrumental selections, and special music
-
Play for special services such as Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter, Fifth Sunday Community Sing (only when FBCR is hosting), and other special programs

Perform duties and support areas of the Music Ministry as needed for Sunday services

Accompany soloists in worship as needed
Commitments:
-
Must be available 3 hours per week (9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) each Sunday morning

Preferred availability for special evening services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday, 5th Sunday)
